Very few national or international IVF centers achieve our laboratory’s standard of excellence. Our laboratory director, Klaus Wiemer, PhD, designed the lab as a “biological clean room” environment for optimum embryonic development. We utilize many technologies to provide high quality medical care, including:
Our clinic’s state-of-the-art embryology laboratory features advanced tools designed by our scientists to support high embryo implantation rates.
Our ultrasound machines possess the latest 3-dimensional imaging technology for sonohysterography visualization and other advanced procedures.
Our andrology laboratory offers unique diagnostic sperm tests including the “acrosome reaction test” which are unmatched by any but a select few labs nationwide.
Our pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is designed to help women with advanced reproductive age, recurrent pregnancy loss, inheritable genetic diseases or for family balancing gender selection.
The Joint Commission Gold Seal for the Laboratory:
Kirkland, WA 4/11/2008 – By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety, NCRS has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™
"We continually strive to improve the quality of our services, and meeting The Joint Commission's rigorous national standards is an important recognition of our efforts," says Wiemer. The Joint Commission evaluated the laboratory's performance in complying with nearly 300 standards related to quality control, safety, infection control, leadership, management of human resources, management of information, ongoing performance improvement activities and other issues. Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation.
"The accreditation process helps promote continuous, systematic and organization-wide improvement in health care organizations," says Margaret Peck, executive director, Laboratory Accreditation Program, The Joint Commission. "Achieving accreditation demonstrates Northwest Center for Reproductive Science's commitment to providing high quality and safe services.”
Wiemer says efforts to improve don't stop when The Joint Commission survey is over. "Meeting the standards and achieving excellence is a continuous process," He says. "No matter how well we did today, we continue to strive to do better tomorrow."
